No, I didn't see the movie. I might throw it in the Netflix queue, but that pretty much insures I'll never see it. Probably when it's on HBO some afternoon when I'm folding laundry I'll catch three quarters of it. Maggie over at Mighty Girl has dubbed the concept Mighty Life, I think that sounds a little better.
I like the idea of a list of things that I have my heart set on accomplishing prior to my demise at the ripe old age of 103.
In no particular order:
- Grow old with my husband, complete almost everything on this list with him by my side.
- Recruit 30 agents in one year for my company
- Publish a book. Doesn't matter what kind of book-children's, cookbook, best selling Pulitzer Prize winning novel-just want to see it with my name on it.
- Visit all of the National Parks in the United States, get my passport stamped in each one.
- Visit all 50 states, enjoy a meal in each with someone I consider a friend.
- Visit India
- Visit Europe, preferably for at least a month, immersing myself in everyday life in a small village
- Conquer my fear of heights with an outrageous act
- Learn to speak Spanish fluently
- White water raft down the Colorado River
- Stay up all night watching a meteor shower in the desert
- Eat a double mozzarella pizza at Pizzeria da Michele
- Master a DSLR camera
- Go on an African Safari
- See a California Condor in the wild
- Participate actively in "The Big Year"
- Photograph Ayeres Rock from sun up to sunset.
- Go whale watching
- Organize a genuinely fun, well catered family reunion with gracious accommodations.
- Hold a newborn grandchild
- Visit the Galapagos Islands
- Visit Stonehenge
- Walk the Great Wall of China
- Live debt free
- Spend a night in the Ice Hotel
- Completely design and custom build our retirement home with my husband-somewhere on a lake
- Finish my college degree
- Win a blue ribbon at the State Fair for one of my baked goods
- See a live performance of Vivaldi's Concerto in D, preferably outdoors on a blanket with an incredible bottle of wine and a flawless meal
- Donate enough to build at least one house for Habitat for Humanity
- Attend a film premier
- Enjoy a weekend of incredible food in the French Quarter
- Drive the Pacific Coast Highway in a luxury convertible
- Drink a mint julep while wearing the one hat that doesn't make me look like an idiot at the Kentucky Derby
- Learn to eat with chopsticks
- Stay in the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island
- Watch the Naga Fireballs on the Mekong River
- Find my old friends from junior high school in North Carolina
- Spend a few nights in this tree house hotel.
- Walk through Central Park in the springtime
- Get through my Amazon Wish List while I can still appreciate it
- Celebrate New Year's Eve in grand fashion somewhere exotic
- Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef
- Enjoy an evening of music at the Sydney Opera House
- Kiss my husband while riding in a gondola going under the Bridge of Sighs at sunset while the bells toll
- Cultivate my own variety of a flower
- See the Northern Lights in Alaska
- Spend an entire week in Chicago, exploring the museums by day, eating fabulously by night
- Have enough money to surprise my family with outrageous acts of kindness
- Acquire a well organized and complete musical library
