We barely survived the drive from Minnesota to Ohio. Twenty hours of sheer torture-driving rain the entire trip, hundreds or gory deer carcasses littered the highways of Wisconsin and the absolute worst traffic all the way from Chicago through Gary, Indiana. I will never make that trip by car again-well, not after Sunday when we have to return the same way we got here. From now on, it's by airplane only.
That being said, it's been wonderful to have someone else prepare Thanksgiving dinner for once. I think my sister has set the bar too high though, I wish she had scaled back a little so that expectations won't be so lofty for me at Christmas. I'll show her...I'm stealing her vintage Martha Stewart Christmas cookbook. Also, I'm sending her my Kohl's bill next month, because there's no way my kids will fit into their current wardrobe after consuming dozens of her cutout cookies .
Among the many blessings I have, I'm so grateful for all of the new friends I've made through this blog. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
